Traffic Weather displays cameras, forecasts, radar and optional information feeds. It has no app account, advertising or third-party analytics SDK.
Camera names and image URLs, selected weather towns/coordinates and display preferences are saved on your device. If enabled, supported settings sync through your private Apple iCloud key-value store. Camera passwords are stored in device Keychain, not in iCloud settings; credentials are supplied to the camera you configure when needed to fetch its image. The developer cannot read your private iCloud settings. Local-network permission allows requests to the camera address you entered.
Nothing is submitted as feedback unless you type a note and choose Send. The message contains your note (up to 280 characters), platform and app version. It does not attach a name, reply address, camera list, chosen location or device/advertising identifier. Free text may identify you if you enter personal details, so leave them out. Without a reply address, this form is for one-way feedback; use the support contact if you need a reply.
A Cloudflare Worker receives feedback for staff review and printing. Feedback is removed from the online queue after processing/acknowledgement and in any case within 30 days. Printed copies are handled by staff for support and follow-up and are separate from the online expiry. An incoming IP address is needed for delivery; it is not stored with the note. A short-lived one-way hash limits abuse and expires within an hour.
Requests reveal normal connection information, including IP address and requested resources, to their providers. Weather and location search use Open-Meteo and coordinates you select. Camera images come from the addresses you configure, including public Queensland/NSW camera services or your private cameras. Radar and maps use the Bureau of Meteorology, RainViewer, CARTO and OpenStreetMap as selected.
Enabled news and ticker features can request ABC/SBS news, Queensland traffic/fuel data, Geoscience Australia earthquake data, state emergency/fire feeds, Wikipedia, ISS and NOAA aurora information. Aircraft features use adsb.lol and hexdb.io; ship information uses a developer-operated proxy. Availability depends on platform and the enabled feature. Providers may receive the coordinates or map area needed for the selected feed. These requests are separate from sending feedback.
Local settings remain until you change or remove them. iCloud copies are controlled through your Apple account and settings. You can leave optional feeds, iCloud and feedback off and remove private-camera configurations. For a privacy request or complaint, contact the address below; include only enough information to locate a feedback item or enquiry.
Palingen publishes this app and this notice. Where your organisation uses the app for workplace operations, that organisation controls the operational records it enters and the staff who can access them. Contact your administrator about those records, or contact Palingen for help routing a request.
Hosting, security, email and platform providers process information needed to deliver their services. Cloudflare hosts this policy website and relevant Cloudflare services described above. Provider networks and subprocessors can process information outside Australia. Provider logs, recovery snapshots and backups can have separate retention periods. These policy pages do not send a visit to Palingen’s visitor-printer feed.
Use the contact below for privacy questions, access or correction requests, deletion requests and complaints. Include the app name and enough detail to locate the relevant information, without passwords, enrolment codes or unnecessary customer information. Identity may need to be verified. We will consider the request and explain any limits, including records controlled by your organisation, legal retention, backups or copies already printed or shared.
If a concern is not resolved, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner where applicable. This policy will be updated at this address when practices change.
